Neurosurgery is a medical specialty that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and cerebrovascular system.

Several eminent neurosurgeons from all over India and abroad have worked and been trained at the Department of Neurosurgery at St Stephen’s Hospital over the past decades.

We offer expertise driven disease-specific and patient-focused approach to care for all sub-specialities of brain and spine surgery for all age groups employing both minimally invasive and open neurosurgical techniques.

Our fully integrated model of well equipped Emergency department, dedicated Neurosurgical ICU, specialized wards and highly-trained intensivists; ensures continuous excellent standard of care, and strengthens our research abilities.

Our Stroke unit is an integrated unit of doctors from the Neurosurgical Department, Neurology department, and Neuro-interventionists (who are experts in treating various kinds of Cerebral Stroke with modern therapeutic modalities) delivering par excellence emergency care in stroke which is imperative to improve long term outcome.
